WHEN WAS YOUR VERY FIRST EQUESTRIAN COMPETITION? I must have been 8 or 9 years old. I showed in a class where the riders are asked to only walk and trot at a local show in New Jersey. I wasn't ready for the walk/trot/canter class at that point, haha! I was riding a pony named “Shamie”, which was short for “Shamrock”. She was really cute but she liked to randomly bolt sometimes, so I fell off a lot.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CAREER? A few weeks ago when I won both the 5* Grand Prix Qualifier and the 5* Grand Prix in one week at the Winter Equestrian Festival with my horse With Wings! It was unbelievable and the best week of my life!
IF YOU HAD NOT GONE INTO HORSE RIDING, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE DONE? Something in business, though I’m not sure exactly what. I would have liked to study Business at school, but Yale doesn't offer any Business majors so I majored in Economics instead. I also really like Chemistry and Biology so doing something science-related would have been interesting too!
YOU TRAVEL A LOT. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CITY? My favorite is my home city, New York! But my favorite city to travel to is Tokyo. It's fun to be somewhere so different! Plus, I have a lot of family there. WHICH OBJECT DO YOU ALWAYS KEEP WITH YOU? My parents gave me a ring when I graduated from high school before starting college at Yale, and I haven't taken it off since!
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ATHLETE? Michael Phelps.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF MUSIC? Right now I like "Something Just Like This" by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION? My family goes on vacation every year in St Martin, which is an island in the Caribbean. The beach is fantastic. We’ve been going there since I was really little and I love it.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FILM? I like movies where you have to think a little bit like the Bourne movies or Shutter Island.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW? That’s really tough. I have so many! I love Scandal, Suits, and Modern Family.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COCKTAIL? I don’t drink because I can’t stand the taste of alcohol! 😩
HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR IDEAL SUNDAY (WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN A SHOW JUMPING)? Relaxing at home, spending time with friends, and eating a lot!
WHAT IS YOUR EVERYDAY CAR? AND YOUR DREAM CAR? My everyday car is an Audi A4. I don’t have a specific dream car but I'd like something fancy. Maybe a Maserati!
