On Sunday 13th August, during the Berlin Grand Prix, Longines has officially launched the new Second-screen App. Based on the Longines Positioning System’s technology, this new tool supplies detailed real-time data during horse races. It is now available to the public.
Having mastered analogic mechanics to perfection, Longines is now set to demonstrate their know-how in the numeric field. The Swiss brand developed an App for i-Pad dedicated to a universe that is very close to its DNA: horse racing.
With Longines Second-screen App, the user will be able to receive instant data on the exact position of the horses during a race, their ranking, the distance between them, as well as their speed. Producing detailed statistics in real time, the Second-screen App can provide the average speed and the intermediate timings of the racers.
According to Longines this new tool is essential to a younger audience used to having access to real-time information anywhere. One of the reasons why with this app Longines provides users with the possibility to watch the race’s replay in 3D.
